Katy has always been a person of movement. She was a competitive cheerleader, softball player, and long-distance runner. In an effort to shed her shell of intensity hardened by competition, she stepped on a yoga mat for the first time in 2013. Today her intensity can be seen in her passion for a continuous practice and study of yoga. She offers space for others on all paths of a yoga journey to rid themselves of the rigidity that life and competition create – a place for them to find energy and vigor of fluid movement, quiet stillness, and grace that is created when we rid ourselves of expectations to find contentment in our present wholeness. Katy completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Transcending Yoga in Swansboro, North Carolina and is currently enrolled in a 300-hour study at Wilmington Yoga Center. She is deeply grateful for the compassionate guidance that her teachers have shared with her, for they have shown her that yoga is an ever-developing acceptance of who you are in a present moment -- an understanding of all the variances and changes that exist within you.
